The Irish fleet is aiming to beat last years turnout of 15 boats at the Irish Championship on 6 and 7 October with a 6 race windward / leeward series under the very experienced International PRO David Lovegrove. The racing will be supplemented with extensive shore based activity.
North sails will video racing on the water on Saturday and Maurice “Prof” O’Connell and Nigel Young of North will debrief the competitors after racing using the on the water videos. This will be followed by a reception and food, music on the terrace and the bar will no doubt be busy until the early hours.
There will be lots of prizes as well as the main podium prizes – first 5 places overall, race winner prizes (but no boat can receive more than one race winner prize) and spot prizes. The Irish Championship is a class rules event and the NOR, Entry Form and SIs are posted on the Howth Yacht Club website and entries can be made online at hyc.ie
