The Key Yachting J Cup, managed by the Royal Southern yacht club in Hamble saw the first one- design racing of the year, with 8 J/109s competing. It was a hard- fought battle between Jenie and Jumping Jellyfish, who won 7 of the 8 races between them, with Jenie edging it in the end.
The Taittinger regatta, organised by the Royal Solent Yacht Club in Yarmouth had 7 109s in the mix. Jumping Jellyfish won the regatta ahead of Jenie, JAGO and Just So. It was a close regatta with a different boat winning each of the three races.
Jenie recorded third place in IRC2 in the IRC National Championships at the Poole regatta.
Just So are leading class 2 in the JOG Coastal series, winning the Yarmouth - Cowes race and getting third in the Cowes - Yarmouth race. They're also lying second in the JOG offshore series, after a win in the Deauville race.
Mojo Risin' are lying second in the RORC points championship in IRC 3.
In Scotland, Mocking-J won the RC35 Championship at the Holy Loch sailing club. Jings came third. At the Bangor regatta, Mocking-J won again. They're lying first in the RC35 series, with Jings in third. |
