Welcome to the class December Newsletter.

We've the 2025 calendar to download, showing the events forming the Season's points championship and Solent series.  Also a call out to measure interest in an annual dinner and prizegiving in Feb/March. Our annual survey is there to be filled out, and we've the results from the second half of 2024.

Annual Dinner and Prizegiving

We're hoping to kick off again the tradition of an annual J/109 dinner. If your crew would like to join us in late February/ early March, either in London or near the Solent, please fill in the survey linked to below to help us plan.

Please fill out our annual survey of members. It'll help us better serve your needs. It helps us predict numbers for one design regattas so that we can secure starts for the class. It helps us plan for socials such as the annual dinner and prizegiving.

Racing Reports

Cowes Week was won yet again by visiting Netherlands boat Joule, with Jukebox pushing them close.

The J/109 National Championships at Dartmouth Week was won by national champions Jenie. Jumping Jellyfish and Mojo Risin' round out the podium. Jenie won 3 races including the final day's bay race. Jellyfish were consistent throughout, while Mojo won three races also, but slipped up on the final day.

The Vice Admirals Cup was won by Jeroboam, with Mojo Risin' second and Jybe Talkin' third.

The J/109 European championships at the J Cup Ireland saw Joker 2 crowned European champions, with Chimeara second and White Mischief third. The racing was tight, with five different boats winning a race in the regatta.

Outrajeous,  meanwhile concentrated on its handicap racing, to win the  J Cup Ireland IRC and overall prizes. The team went on to win the IRC Europeansoverall, and so are IRC European champions. Joker 2 came second in IRC 1, and Chimeara fourth.

Just So finished second in class 2 in  the JOG Coastal series, winning the Yarmouth - Cowes race and the Cowes - Weymouth race. They also ended up second in the JOG offshore series, after a win in the Deauville and both Cherbourg races.

Mojo Risin' finished third in the RORC points championship in IRC 3, having won their class in the Channel race.

In Scotland, Mocking-J won are  the RC35 2024 champions, ahead of  Blue Jay in third. Mocking-J won the North Clyde regatta with  Blue Jay winning in  Largs.

Finally, in the Hamble Winter Series, JAGO won IRC 2 and also took home the  Paul Hayes trophy for top J boat. Mojo Risin' was third. JAGO won 2 of the 8 races, Mojo one.
