Class Training/Coaching Day

The J/109 coaching day took place on 11th March.  Three intrepid J/109s: Jambo, Jybe Talkin' and Mojo Risin',  made it out on the Central Solent. each with a coach from One Sails on board. The boats were taken on a series of short windward /leeward courses, and worked on rig set- up, sail trim and manoeuvres. They then returned to Banana Wharf at Port Hamble for a debrief. All three boats and crew got a lot from the day.  Thanks to the guys at One Sails for making the time to help us!

March Racing Recap

In the Opening JOG weekend, Just So was the overall winner of Sunday's Great Escape race by just under a minute in relatively light airs. Five J/109s were entered.  In the much heavier conditions of Saturday's Lonely Tower race, Just So were again the top J/109, although the conditions favoured the large contingent of Sunfast 3300s, who were up on the plane in the 25+knots downwind and reaching legs. Again, 5 J/109s braved the conditions.

In the Warsash Spring Series, Mojo Risin'  are leading IRC 2 after 6 races by a single point ahead of fellow J/109 Jybe Talkin'. There's 6 more races to go, so all to play for!

- Remember that all One- design racing  (J Cup, Vice Admiral's Cup, Taittinger Regatta, Cowes Week, Dartmouth Week)  is governed by the class rules, and as such is only open to members of the class. We can't wait to race with you at these events.
